Questions people ask before sharing a PDF.
Answers for founders and sales teams who want a stable PDF link, read tracking, and simpler file handoff.
What is CueSlate?
CueSlate is a web app for sharing a PDF behind one stable link. You can replace the file later, get notified when it is opened, and see which pages recipients read.
Can I see who opened my PDF?
Yes. CueSlate emails you in real time when a link is opened. The free plan includes open alerts; Plus adds the visitor's email, completion rate, country, and page-by-page dwell time.
Does replacing a PDF change the share link?
No. The public share URL stays the same when you upload the first PDF or replace it with a newer version, so old emails and messages keep pointing to the same destination.
How is CueSlate different from DocSend?
CueSlate is a lighter, cheaper DocSend alternative. It focuses on a stable link you can update later, real-time read tracking, page analytics, and a free QR code — without a full data room, at about half the price.
Can recipients download the PDF?
Downloads are disabled by default. CueSlate shows the PDF through a viewer-only path unless the owner enables downloads for that link, and you can add a password or expiry date.
Is there a free trial?
Every new account gets 14 days of Plus — all features, no card required. After the trial, links stay on the free plan, where new free links are kept for 7 days.
